What is the Church? It is the believers in Jesus, not a building, nor a legal document, nor a corporation (501c3). The Church is God’s family, His Kingdom on Earth, and it is the Bride of Christ.
All who want to be part of a Christ-centered Home Church family are welcome, including families with little ones, teens (we have 4), adults, singles, married, and divorced. As in any family, each member is special and carries unique giftings that make a specific special contribution to the edification of the body.
As far as doctrine, we major in the majors and minor in the minors while holding to LOVE (1 Cor 13) above all. We believe that we are redeemed by the grace of God through faith in Jesus alone. The Apostle’s Creed sums up our core doctrine:
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the universal body of Christ (the Church),
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Verses on why we meet in home church can be seen through the New Testament such as Romans 16:3-5, Colossians 4:1, 1 Cor 16:19, 1 Peter 2:2. For more information read the top page on home church.
